Canberra Royals hosted Uni Norths in an all-grade trail last weekend at Phillip Enclosed Oval.
Proceedings started early with a 3-way trial between Royals, Uni Norths and Sydney Easts.
3rd and 4ths blew off a few cobwebs, 2nds held up their end and our 1st grade had a tale of 2 halves.
“All in all job done” said Royals Head Coach Adam Butt. “It’s early days but if a trial gives us an indication of what is to come then we should have a good season. That does not mean we should be complaisant. There are plenty of areas where improvement is needed and the next couple of weeks will be spent doing just that”.
Women’s Head Coach Scott Izod is equally guarded when commenting on the season ahead. “We have some fantastic players in place, but also some new players that we will develop throughout the season”
Stand-in Colts coach was eager to get the season started and senses that Royals Colts will be competitive this season and have their sights set on some achievable goals in the coming months.
Royals season starts on April the 16th when they host Penrith at Phillip Enclosed Oval.
