After a couple of close losses, Royals 4th Grade faced the dreaded task of playing Gungahlin at Nicholls. After a slow start, conceding early in the match, Royals found the front foot and started to play some good-looking attack. Royals went into half time on the back of three tries, 2 to Rory O’Brien and a great individual try by captain Tyler Meredith-Brown. Royals again started slowly in the second half, allowing Gungahlin possession and territory, ultimately leading to Gungahlin leveling the scores at 19-19. However, like the first half, Royals found the energy to wrestle things back in their favour, finishing the match with tries to Ladrell Leyes and Ben Hockin. It was a well-deserved win to the boys who now head into a week off. 4th Grade next play Goulburn in two weeks at Phillip oval.
