Royals took to the field with a little more focus following last week’s loss to the Eagles. With a couple of key players back, Royals was able to start well and with a good combination of attacking football and solid defence, jump out to handy lead heading into half time. Half time score was 31 – 7.
Despite the score, the first half was a physical effort played in unseasonably warm conditions that was far from easy for both teams with a lot of determination and grit shown out on the field. Some adjustments at the oranges break with respect to not pushing the pass resulted in Royals
dominating possession and the second half opening right up with Royals scoring 53 unanswered points. The final score was 84 to 7 to the Mighty Fourths.
Thirteen tries were scored by; Jacob Bindley (3), Brendan Woodward (2), Mark Young (2), Jon
Andrew-Copsy (2), Ben Johnston, Luke Whalan, Justin Vandenbergh and a penalty try.
